The short-lived Stork Lounge known for its iron-clad velvet rope and burly bouncers has been replaced with h.wood; a bar that’s, ironically, less Hollywood and more relaxed, despite the name. The original industrial, art-loft design (made from antique salvaged bricks and windows from Andy Warhol’s factory in New York) has been given a makeover with comfy brown leather couches and wood tables. Want to spark up a conversation with the cute artist-type by the bar? Invite them to play a game of chess on the boards you’ll find scattered about. The lounge is still under the helm of Loyal Pennings (who also owns LAX) and John Terzian, which translates to: celebrity crowd mixing with fashionistas, modelesque beauties, and artsy types.

This place is Wack. The staff is trying way to hard to be Hollywood. If you wait in line to get into this place, you will be sorely disappointed.

There's NOTHING special about this place. The owners are RUDE, and THEY'RE NOT part of celebrity culture. Just because a celebrity accidentally walks through this place, and quickly leaves, doesn't mean that this is a 'place 2 b'. I'm a celebrity, and none of my celebrity friends will ever patronage their clubs.
First of all lady P has a stick up her you know what...or was on the time of the month...hello you are not Vegas...please get over it!!!! I can't believe so many people want to get into this club..it is so lame to say the least.. It might of been the night...but I will never go there again...I would rather drive 300 miles to Vegas and have ten times more fun!
That's it. Pure and simple. Suxxxx.
I registered to this site just so I could write this review of this place in hopes that it will help others avoid it. Worst door policy I've ever experienced in my years of going to Hollywood clubs. period. I was on the list there to attend a friends birthday party on a friday night, arrived at 10:30. But it went from a "not letting guys in" policy to "bottle service only" a short while after. There was nobody actually checking a list at the door, just a half dozen promoter types checking their blackberrys to see who to instruct the bouncers to let in. Even attractive girls weren't having much luck getting in! Unless you know the promoters or the owners and have an "in", don't waste your time on this lame club.
Went to H-wood last week and it was awesome. The decor is unlike any other clubs/bars in LA, a very NY feel to it. Everyone there was hot and music was great. Definately a lot of celebs as I saw Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton on back-toback nights. Great low-key downstairs too where people can get away from the clubbing and just chill. Awesome spot if you can get in!
If youre a guy with your friends looking for a place to have fun dont plan on getting in here without either a bus full of really pretty young ladies or a briefcase full of cash to pay off the bouncer at the front steps.Planning on showing up early? Dont plan on it!You could even try helping out the valet by cleaning out the parking lot and still you wont get in.If it wasnt for a few of my friends who had booked in advance I would have been one of the many left standing outside twiddling my thumbs. Its funny how h. woods description says and I'll paraphrase here,"A place for artsy types,"not true. This place has more posers and snobs than there are tourists at the Sistine Chapel. This place is literally only for the crème de la crème and of course those pretending to be. The truth is that there are plenty of other places full of real down to earth, genuine people who all have one thing in common:looking to have a good time without ever having to be put on a scale from 1-10.
