This restaurant provides as authentic an introduction to a Moroccan feast as you will find in Los Angeles. The food, along with the unique decor and exuberant entertainment, will transport you to an exotic place far from Dar Maghreb's Sunset Boulevard location. The dining room is a replica of a 15th-century Moroccan palace, featuring a romantic courtyard, fountains and the haunting Moorish architecture of northern Africa. Guests are seated on plush pillows around ornately decorated ivory and wood tables, while waiters in traditional Moroccan garb assist with the ceremonial hand washing that begins a culinary journey halfway around the world. The seven-course meals served here can include grilled quail, couscous, sweet lamb in honey sauce, lemon chicken, and the famous b'steeya (phyllo pastry filled with chicken, almonds and spices). Diners eat with their hands, enjoy the gyrations of exotic belly dancers and easily imagine they are in the middle of a raucous Marrakech marketplace.Did you know? all i can say was this place was very fun! The food is good if you're into the eating with no utensils sort of thing and the belly dancers were a nice touch. After being there for a little while though the music starts to drive you crazy....
