In its first incarnation, Barcade was a hugely popular weekly event run out of a Koreatown apartment. It wasn't a legal operation (selling booze out of your home is a no no) and its die-hard fans we're ready to unleash fury on any one who wrote about it. It's since gone legit and is now located in a real bar space that houses old-school arcade games like Ms. Pacman and Donkey Kong, all which only cost 25 cents to play. The theme is decidedly '80s, with Depeche Mode posters and Luigi (as in Mario and Luigi) stuffed animals placed about. There's no hard liquor at the bar, but the beer selection makes up for it and it sure is better than only being able to sip soda as you take on the pinball machine.
