Banzai Beach

A nicely sized, multi-tiered restaurant and bar just a short stroll from Pier Ave., Banzai Beach is an institution in Hermosa Beach for one reason—all you can eat sushi. Every Monday night, for an entirely reasonable $21.95, you can stuff your face with the spoils of the sea, from the modest yellow tail or salmon sushi to the decadent dragon or caterpillar roll. If you prefer your food to be cooked, however, there are a variety of choices from shrimp and vegetable tempura to pork gyoza and  roasted beef salad. And if you prefer to watch your food being cooked, Banzai Beach has five giant “teppan” grill tables, where chefs will prepare your meal Benihana-style. There’s ample parking underneath the tiny Sandcastle Plaza business mall where Banzai is located, but you may want to walk--at least during the restaurant’s “summer special” period: Beers are only $1.50 with the purchase of an entrée.
