A cobra could easily go undetected in this dark, moody Spanish tapas restaurant. The noise level is always at a roar, but the cool kids keep flocking for delectable small plates such as patatas fritas, skirt steak and roasted game hen. The Los Feliz location boasts an always crowded bar, while this smaller WeHo location is BYOB.
This will be my third time going to Cobras and Matadors, although I've been to their now defunct sister resturant Cobra Lily several times. The food is very good and interesting, the wait staff have always been pleasant and helpful and it's the kind of place you want to linger a while. Unfortunately, because it's a small space you don't. I've yet to find a resturant in Los Angeles that serves true Spanish tapas, but Cobras and Matadors can still bring back memories of Madrid and Barcelona for me.
