Shibucho had the promise of a hidden treasure until we tasted the sushi. At $200 for a less than stellar selection of Sushi/Shashimi, I felt like I was eating sushi from one of those all you can eat sushi places. Fish was thin and dry and overwhlemingly "fishy". Rice was cold, too sticky and the rice protion was bigger than the fish. I suggest any sushi restaurant in Studio City to rival the freshness/flavor/rice of this establishment. We actually had to go out for pizza after our experience at Shibucho just to get the taste of old fish out of our mouth. If you're paying over $200 for sushi - go to Nozawa or Katsu or Gho, etc..they offer ultra fresh fish and that exact balance between warm rice and fish along with innovative creations and no "fishy" after taste. ON a positive note: Shibucho is small and intimate and has a certain "old world" charm. The wine list is pricey but Spectacular.
The best Sushi I've had - no joke. I highly recommend it. Uni, albacore, yellowtail, toro are all fabulous. The atmosphere is old style Japanese, very nice staff too.
No Lunch time. There are perfect balance of Rice and Fish. The seasoning of magic has surely come out from his fingertip. I understud that a fish was that not only fresh but it is important how it prepares.

Amazing fish. I felt like I was eating it right out of the ocean. The richest meal I have ever had. Shige is great. If you stand all the formality you will...

Hands down the best sushi I've ever had. Beyond fresh. You want to cry because it's so incredible. The gold standard. Simple, traditional & straightforward....

Very simple and in a less than elegant location but the beauty is in the food and the wine pairing. Everything is of the HIGHEST quality and beautifully...
